Fantastic Fall!!!

What a Fantastic Fall we had, and yes it has been awhile...but we have been sooo busy keeping warm this Winter and Spring (goodness I need to catch up on these posts).  It has been superb looking back at our warm days of preparation for the cold months.  Now that we are smack in the middle of Winter with snow storm after snow storm...I suspect we are not alone in our loss of enthusiasm for the white stuff.

I tried the new layout and while I like the look it is really time consuming...maybe I will just sprinkle them in as time allows.  Please enjoy our a peak into our Fall adventures.

In our last post we shared pics of our preparation for Michaelmas, well everything came together better than we planned.  With special thanks from All The Saints Theater Company for bringing together a surprise

Some of us took to the road and traveled to ARGH!  It is a family camp that is offered twice a year for self-led learning families.  My family has been going twice a year now since 2009 and it changed our lives and we look forward to it every year!
Some horse back riding.

We felted some acorns.
Some tinkering with coffee filters.

We carved our pumpkins.
We shared our talents at the talent
show and tell.

We pretended to be expert hula hoopers.

We worked on a community loom.

We had an amazing
field trip to The Glass Spot
where everyone could make
their own glass ball...so exciting!

We tossed in a trip to Carter's Mountain for our annual apple picking field trip...what perfect weather!

More fun with All the Saints Theater Company in preparation for the Richmond Halloween Parade.

For November we celebrated Martinmas.  We are not a religious group but follow the celebrations of history and the world.  St. Martin was a soldier and his day also falls on or around Veteran's Day.  We take this opportunity to share time together making lanterns to guide us through the coming Winter and appreciate the sacrifices of others.  We have our annual coat drive during this festival.

Our actual Lantern Walk!

Our Inside Fun With Early Learning Circle!

Our Enrichment Circle for the rising adults!

A little Greek Food for our study on Greek Mythology!
